Is it time to upgrade your Office?
Why
should you abandon Microsoft Office 97, just when you've become accustomed
to it? There are lots of reasons, and not least among them is the fact
that Office 2000 looks and feels almost exactly like Office 97. So,
if you're comfortable with 97, you will be equally comfortable with
2000.
For
the serious Office user, however, the advantages that Office 2000 can
offer are tremendous. First, from our experience, it's just more reliable.
You'll experience fewer lock-ups and fewer unexplained bugs, especially
when working with longer tables. Moreover, since it's been on the market
for well over a year now, the big bugs have all been worked out.
Second, the functionality overall is greatly improved. The user interfaces
of the component programs are much more alike and thus easier to use.
And there are just more nifty features, like the ability to have multiple
items on your clipboard simultaneously, that will delight you as you
discover them.
Third, the ability to collaborate with co-workers has been dramatically
improved. You don't have to worry about all those Office 97 documents
that you've created and that you certainly don't want to re-create.
Office 2000 is forward and backward compatible with Office 97. What
that means is that you can open your Office 97 documents in 2000, edit
them and save them either as 97 or 2000 documents. Furthermore, your
friends who still have 97 can open and read your 2000 documents just
fine in most cases. We've been using 2000 since the Beta versions, and
we've experienced no difficulty in converting documents from one version
to another.
How much upgrading from Office 97 to 2000 will cost you depends upon
which version of 97 you currently have and which version of 2000 you
wish to upgrade to. Office 2000 versions include: Office Premium, Office
Professional, Office Standard, and Office Small Business Edition. Call
